First of all, wishing all the readers a very Happy and Prosperous New Years. January is almost over and I have been excited about making new changes to my diet. Since, we have travelled a lot in the last few months, it is now time to eat healthier and reduce the festive fat. Lately, I have started enjoying the taste of Tofu, specially Tofu made on Tawa. (Indian style). Another benefit is that one doesn’t need to use oil.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED
Tofu (firm) cut 1/2 slab into thin long slices
Tomato puree 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Black Pepper 1/4 tsp
Cumin Powder 1/2 tsp
Fresh Coriander to garnish
METHOD
- On a non-stick Tawa place sliced tofu and cook until golden brown, flipping it every few minutes so that both the sides are well cooked
- In another pan, put tomato puree, salt, black pepper and cumin powder
- Cook until tomato puree becomes darker and is the water starts to dry, add the roasted tofu to this mix and sauté well
Garnish with coriander and serve once the tomato puree is well blended into the Tofu
Enjoy it with mint-coriander dip and onion rings. See recipe here.
A very healthy & tasty recipe.
